It will guide you to uninstall the whole Realtek program.
Step 3 : Search MaxxAudio Pro in the program list (hit Windows and search "maxx")Ĭlick on uninstall.
Make all your update, get the latest intel HD drivers (not dell ones) should be everything perfect and up to date but the MaxxAudio Pro. Step 1 : I recommand to make your system as stable as possible.
I am open to comments on better way to do it and will try to update the how to if you find some things that doesn't work. I just managed to do it, I hope it will stand and stay this way.
No conflict, no random CPU usage, true windows signature experience.ĭisclaimer : You will loose automatic driver update of all your component from windows update You plugged in a headphone but you wan't to use the laptop speakers ? Choose your audio source RIGHT FROM WINDOWS 10. If you plug something, sound goes their, if it has a mic, the mic works, if it doesn't it doesn't. Sound is good and authentic (no stupid heavy bass boosting which is everything but "pro") when quality external audio system. Your computer works PERFECTLY FINE without it, and DEFAULT BEHAVIOUR IS PERFECT : If you pick the wrong profile that is max volume on your loud high volume speaker your can make your flat expload even though your windows volume was just at 5% a second before. You have to disable audio enhancement on each one of them. Random piece of software, that some times pop's up, some time doesn't, horrible sound correction, 909809823232 sound profiles different ( small headphone, medium headphone, big headphone, small earplugs, medium earplugs, big earplugs, small speaker, etc etc etc). Even when executed without internet, but this only to Dells XPSs (how the heck ? why the heck do they wan't this so bad ?). Somehow, it automaticly installs itself with the Realtek HD audio driver downloaded from realtek's official website. +no way to disable it even on "signature edition" (it's a software/bloatware, not a driver as the "rolling back driver" does not remove MaxxAudio Pro). ( see screenshot of MaxxAudio Pro CPU usage that often happend to me at some point : ) My system have never been as stable since I'm using new Intel video drivers (4664) and manage to get rid of MaxxAudio Pro. (You can jump the "How to" section if you don't care about me lashing out on MaxxAudio) This one is our best shot because it doesn't respect the "no bloatware signature edition microsoft thingy" Dell might some day get their shit together one day if their product is being remove from a store. I encourage you to do as I do and try to pressure microsoft (as Dell doesn't really listen). And those laptops also comes with all the other non-fonctionning deprecated Dell drivers. I will email Microsoft store ask them to remove Dell XPS from the "signature edition computers" section, because it comes bundled with this software (it's not a driver as "rolling back driver" will leave MaxxAudio Pro program). You can not avoid it, you can not disable it, you can not uninstall it. I am not talking about the 9550's MaxxAudio Pro version, i'm talking about the latest version shipped with the 2017 XPS's (mine is a XPS 15 9560).
I think i came up with a way to disable MaxxAudio Pro which is to me very important for several reasons.
